confusion leads a life of disorder a life of catching Z's and making up for time well spent the time you'll never see the opening day you're stuck on an island thats drifting out at sea the waves are crashing on the shore it's coming back to me you're losing track of what you believe in and what you thought was true the way it was when things felt right when everything was new the people you meet they seek to deceive you with paragraphs and pens you'd better watch out while you can and listen to your friends, wait on hang-up calls and bathroom stalls it's, great within these walls unending battles await you when you go

be prepared 02:44
easy, easy to get carried away slowly, slowly but surely through the day now is the time to find out why your mess is in the sink collection eyes are driving through the morning light it feels so bright does it feel bad inside? does it feel bad inside? does it feel bad inside? does it feel bad? waiting, waiting for something to kick in changing, changing the plot from thick to thin now is the time to exorcise your own right to be free protection lies are flying through the morning light it feels so bright does it feel bad inside? does it feel bad inside? does it feel bad inside? does it feel bad inside? does it feel bad?

places 03:15
theres so much to see when you're facing the wall and so much to say but you can't say it at all hold on tight so you can never look back up all night and now you're on the attack don't fight your enemies don't bite the hand that feeds don't worry when you're coming down and out around the places that you'll never go again you'll never go again you kicked it in the sun you left and had your fun now everybody knows whats on your mind when you make circles round the block and empty parking lots are filling up with trash you're making it look bad
6.
on the outs 03:26
waiting for another hour waiting here forever now and again pretend, the credits roll in the end signal from another driver water when the tree caught fire and sent, you home to be there when you're alone and you're on the outs again you're on it, you're on it, you're on it you're on it again you're on the outs again you're on it, you're on it, you're on it you're on it again looking through a pretty picture floating like an empty fixture in time, and space and be there when you're replaced don't you see when you're talking, talking don't you see when you're walking, walking around this town won't you bring me down you'll never stop moving when you hear that sound and you're on the outs again you're on it, you're on it, you're on it you're on it again you're on the outs again you're on it, you're on it, you're on it you're on it again

one way city 03:49
i don't want your pity i don't want excuses you can't back the one way city where its getting harder to keep track of the unnamed roads and the cars that stop and go if you didn't know then don't start moving the bones from the side of the road that bring you down you're up for days with the stones that you've already thrown when she's around you're flat out crazy to leave when you're already gone i don't know the answers i don't even know what to expect the second chancer get your shit together and except its a ways to go on a never ending road you could let it show but don't start running the bones from the side of the road that bring you down you're up for days with the stones that you've already thrown when she's around you're flat out crazy to leave when you're already gone
8.
i was trying to understand but the words weren't very clear feeling stuck to the promised land we've been building all these years with my eyes on the target and a foot in the grave looking down on the empires we've been trying hard to save i guess its already ending if the dream isn't over where does the morning begin? flying over the sunrise in the sorry state you're in i guess were at the beginning i was trying to feel it out but its taken me so long and i don't wanna talk about if i can't tell right from wrong with my eyes on the target and a foot in the grave looking down on the empires we've been trying hard to save if the dream isn't over where does the morning begin? flying over the sunrise in the sorry state you're in i guess its already ending
9.
again 02:53
theres nowhere left to turn but to the stars and thats not so far tonight is where we go wrong with too much intention were singing this song but did you ever know? the height of your fear when nobodies here and did you ever grow? an inch in a year the time is now here its bringing me down and i won't back down the cross that you bear is hanging around and all of your friends try to figure you out try and forget it the sooner you're losing the more you'll regret it a long way to go stuck in momentum you don't even know

about

***tigers can't be choosers***

the unreleased first album,
we made this record back in 2012-13 but ended up releasing the forever home 7" in 2014 with decades records before heading out on tour with our pals surfer blood. with a lot of new material being demo'd and in the works at that time this album was ultimately shelved. after shifting line ups, changing times, relocations, and life getting in the way of art, the new LP is nearing completion here in los angeles. while the world is locked down during these trying and surreal times the inability to connect through live music has taken a heavy toll on all of us and lead us to new and different ways to distantly connect with one another. so we figured it would be a good time to release this record out into the world ahead of the new album being finished to share something with you all and connect again, if from a distance. despite whatever qualms production wise we had with this album at the time, the songs and the people that play on this record represent a bit of a golden era for us, when despite whatever was going on in the world we were all together, living a few blocks away from each other, hanging out making music all the time, and having fun.

hopefully some of that nostalgia translates for you in these songs

love,
evan
